Chapter 48 Quote When we study diligently When we follow the Path The empire is offered to the one who is not restless. Commentary The one who follows the Path (Tao) does not accumulate anything intellectually. On the contrary, he becomes poorer from this (intellectual) point of view because he gives up prejudices and false intellectual considerations. Variant: the one who wants to follow the Path must be intellectually empty. Knowledge (about the
Path) does'nt lead him/her to the Tao. The empire (i.e. the world, everything) is given to the one who is not restless - the one who is restless obtains nothing. -- |
